Thomas Insel (yes that is really his name) discovered that a receptor for antidiuretic hormone (ADH) (also known as vasopressin) differed between promiscuous Montane voles and monogamous Prairie voles.
When he inserted the ADH receptor gene of the monogamous vole into a lab mouse the behavior of the mouse switched from promiscuity to a monogamous pair bond with a trad qt.
If someone wants to get experimental they could try inserting the gene into a lady they fancy.
Vasopressin may be connected to autism as well https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0006322398001425?via=ihub

Increased affiliative response to vasopressin in mice expressing the V1a receptor from a monogamous vole - Nature
Arginine vasopressin influences male reproductive and social behaviours in several vertebrate taxa1 through its actions at the V1a receptor in the brain. The neuroanatomical distribution of vasopressin V1a receptors varies greatly between species with different forms of social organization2,3...
