Mewing after orthodontics

I had orthodontics a few years back. Have a permanent wire retainer on my bottom row and wear a plastic retainer at night for top. I’ve tried going without the night one for a few weeks but by teeth so shift. I mew, but is it worth it since my arches are essentially fixed in position?

I'm about to remove my braces soon after 3 years, and I'm also researching how retainers affect mewing. tbh I'd rather have narrow palate and good teeth than wide palate and shitty teeth I had.
