Don't call it mewing call it correct oral posture. Mike Mew just decided to sell merch off that shit. Mewing won't give you any noticeable changes as there isn't enough proof, and if they do, you probably would have to be growing. Chewing however has studies on it and is legit.

chewing is literally part of mewing. mewing is not just correct oral posture, its chin tucking, proper swallowing, tongue chewing and normal chewing combined.

it depends on your masseters insertions, your ramus lenght and how big you let your masseters grow. a little growth hurts nobody

You can't shorten your maxilla. If you want a better midface ratio you're going to have to get a lip lift or surgery to widen your IPD.
