I know everyone despises rob’s take on michael myers, but he was the only one that tried to make more out of him. Every other movie was just the same thing over and over again.

Michael myers has alot of potential as a character, he needs to be more than just an emotionless evil incarnate kind of killer. A lot more can be done if they try to dwelve deep as to why he is the way he is, im not asking for a traumatic backstory even. What i really would like to understand is where he gets his drive to continuously kill without remorse and no purpose, what drives him to do any of this out of instinct? Its easy to simply call it “evil” as the writers already have done so, but that isnt an actual reason. Its just a shitty way to ignore the question

The best way to go about this is to fully just open the door for alternate timelines, let there be different universes and different kinds of myers

Irredeemable characters who revel in their might are more fun than crybabies with tragic backstories always whining for sympathy

Inexplainable evil incarnate was how he was conceptualized

It’s why his mask is blank and emotionless

I feel like knowing more about his motivations would ruin the character a bit. The scary thing about Myers is that there’s no reasoning or ability to connect with him

Like i said i don’t really want a backstory, in myers case its very hard to work with him because he already has a set in stone “trope” but imo he was very poorly designed and barely touched on enough in the movies. The movies are all about murder and they never talk about MYERS, it would be so interesting to just have a movie about myers and his motives, and its not as if the only diff route for him is a sad traumatic backstory. You know that there’s alot more that they can do with him, but its finnicky

Mindless killers and crybaby killers are two very popular tropes that are over-used severely. Myers would need some form of eldritch story/motive imo.

We’ve already had like 13 movies that touch on the exact same concept, him being a mysterious killer that noone understands. “They” actually already tried to give reasoning too, but again its a finnicky situation for myers

True he was originally meant to be a one movie villain and the plan to expand his character only came after the success of 1978 movie. I just feel like the second a script is going to touch a villain’s backstory, it is inevitably going to the sympathy seeking route. Stone cold unexplained villains used to be very popular but they have been largely unused in recent decades
