Microneedling with dermapen - What is the maximum depth you would use in your face? Is 1.5mm or 2mm safe enough?

Do I have to pay special attention to the depth in some places on the face? 1mm I have already tolerated well, was almost like a vampire lifting. Aim: renewal of my skin, as antiaging. I would work with my own blood again.

General rule is the deeper the better, but 2mm seems a bit overkill, the max on my dermapen is around 2mm, try it, see how the results are but I wouldn't think 2mm on a frequent base would be best and may cause some scarring

Depends on how often you run it. 1.5mm, you should run it once a month tops, 2mm would be even less frequent. With 1mm, you can start heavy hitters like Vitamin C, tret and AHA/BHA 2 days after the needling but with 1.5mm I would take a week off from every active after the needling session.

TBH I wouldn't run 1.5mm+ on my face and just save money, go to a dermatologist and get RF microneedling done. 3-4 sessions and then you are set for the next 5+ years.

I only do max .75 (or 1mm and don't press hard), 2mm is wayy too much

check the micro needling guide made by the manufacturer of the dermapen

On face some areas max 0.25-0.5 depends how thin the skin is

the manufacturer does not want to be sued and therefore he writes only what is foolproof.

That is my plan, ideally only 1x in 2 months but deeper.

I do not use tret, but do you think I can see results regarding antiaging if I needle as you said with 1mm and thereby incorporate tret as an active ingredient once or is that pointless?

0.5mm at the maximum for first time, then evaluate after. never deeper than 1mm
0.2mm for eye area

hard lmao at 2mm

What exactly is dermaroller/dermapen/microneedling? Can someone please explain this?

I did a little microneedling session last week while I had the flu. With the derminator, I needed 1.75mm just to reach a state of pinprick bleeding. Past 1mm of depth I think it's unreliable, and you need 1.5mm+ to induce collagen synthesis. Anything lower is cope, but obviously adjust depth based on the region of the FACE. I use 1.5mm on temples, 1.75mm on cheeks and 0.5-1mm around bony areas.

usually i go 2.5mm but i didn't want a red FACE for the next week. Once I am a hermit again, I will use longer needle depths.
