Miserable life of my cousins

My two cousins are both programmers, they are successful and live in good apartments, driving good cars. But all that is just a comfortable cage they built for themselves, they sit all day long on their laptops. They almost don't have time to go out, they sleep like shit, they are depressed, and are far from happy. My mom wanted me to be like them, be "successful", but is it worth it if I'm not free and can't actually enjoy my life? She just sees the surface and thinks just because i sit on my pc for a long period of time i could do the same lol, hopefully i don't end up like them
