Stuff ive learned from 6 months in therapy Earlier last year (3 Different Therapists in those 6 months btw)
Modern therapy is just reinforcing narcissism rather than challenging individuals
The current therapy approach focuses on validating patients' feelings rather than pushing them to confront their issues
This validation creates an echo chamber where patients' hurt feelings are labeled as trauma
Patients are encouraged to set boundaries as a form of empowerment
The current approach avoids making patients take responsibility for their actions (which is why you see most people who do therapy are insufferable).
Patients are told their issues are part of their identity and shouldn't be changed (it's like there just trying to make you miserable on purpose at this point)
And i would say this is 95% of modern therapy
There is real rare therapy
Real therapy should make patients uncomfortable and question their narratives, but obv most people don't like to accept reailty so they lose their shit when they hear it
But The goal of modern therapy has shifted from healing to making patients feel better, This approach leads to maintenance rather than actual healing.
Patients leave sessions feeling understood but unchanged, leading to more sessions being booked.

When i quit therapy i just stopped coping and fixed what needed, you need to go into uncomfortable places
This goes for anyone considering therapy 90% of the time your problems wont be fixed and theyll just help you cope with pills or whatever bullshit
