mom refuses to get me tested for adhd

I have been struggling with depression and attention problems since i was in 4th grade and have tried every anti depressant yet the only one that worked was wellbutrin(the dopamine increaser). It only makes sense for me to have adhd and i need the help badly but yet wont get tested

she’s in denial unfortunately, most parents don’t wanna admit their child has ‘special needs.’ it’s human nature, biology. no parent wants to accept they brought a defective kid into the world, easier to lie to themselves and pretend they’re ‘normal’ instead of facing reality

its not that deep, and anyway, adhd isnt special needs nor uncommon now a days

adhd is still considered a disability, a ‘special need,’ people like this tend to get placed in iep, separated from the main group because they can’t keep up like everyone else. it’s a label telling you you’re defective, doesn’t matter how ‘high functioning’ they think they are. everyone pretends it’s ‘normal’ now to not hurt feelings

being a slob of a human is just a symptom of modern life, not exactly genetics

most people that had actual adhd symptoms in history are some of the highest achieving people
