If you're in your teens or early adulthood and autistic, you'd still be somewhat tolerated, because you are seen as a person who is still developing and might improve with time.
But imagine a 30+ year old balding graycel autismo. A grown up member of society who is expected to be productive, assertive, mature, responsible etc. But instead he is reserved, awkward, babyish, unemployed...
People would vomit at the mere thought of such an individual.
Brutal.
