Most people need a religion to remain decent human beings

Religions are bullshit in many ways but they draw a line to how much of an asshole you can be. If said line was not there in your mind you could just burn down this whole world and the clown would think there aren't enough principles to stop it.

So whoever created religion knew this. They're not based on god necessarily, but they saw how sick people were, and that they need to abide to a certain set of rules for the sake of collective wellbeing and humanity or we would be self destructed eventually.

I see people doing the lowest of low shit and they're fine and happy with it.
As for myself. I don't need a religion to tell me what's wrong or right. I have a strong sense of values. That's why I can afford not being religious.

I see people who get off putting down others, cunts, no shame, no accountability... and this is product of not having a moral compass. They clearly don't have it by default, thus why the proposal of them integrating religion seems like a decent idea.

You've got a point. At the end of the day one group of people or the other might commit atrocities based on their own inner self, be it religious based or not. Many terrible things have been done in the name of religion.

So, if you look at how people behave and especially how dogshit people are at actually following the bible, you quickly realize that religion does very little for any sort of moral compass. Generally, people will do whatever the fuck they want regardless of what the bible tells them is okay or not okay (most people won't ever even read their bible, they'll just take the ultra cropped version of passages fed to them by their preacher who's just trying to sell his latest power play to them, usually political)

This is a rough sketch of how people function: there's the main NEVER WILL I DO THIS stuff, so things like murder, rape, pedophilia etc etc, those are the things the vast majority of people will never do. Then there's the stuff that's like "I probably won't do this," this is stuff like stealing, fraud, maybe cheating etc etc. Stuff a good number of people will do but still most probably won't. And then finally there's the little stuff, this is the stuff that an overwhelming majority of people will engage in, so stuff like feeling angry, being over judgmental, looking down on others, not being charitable, being greedy, lust based shit, maybe bullying from time to time etc etc. THIS is the stuff that EVERYBODY has their own little mental gymnastics explanation for why it's totally okay for them to do this but not for others, and EVERYBODY participates in this kind of shit (barring extreme outliers like a monk or some shit)

You'll notice that this rough sketch will be followed by basically every person who exists, from atheist to catholic to protestant to muslim to buddhist. It's really irrelevant which religion they follow, this is just how people behave, and all religion changes is the flavor of it (For example a christian guy might be super judgey and look down upon someone specifically for not being christian enough, an atheist obviously wouldn't do that but he'll still be super judgey and look down upon someone for something else.)

The stuff that NOBODY does is based mainly on an innate instinct we have to not be antisocial because a society is stronger than a lone wolf loser. Like I said, religion is just people jotting that instinct down. Abrahamic religions specifically a lot of the time the "morals" are just politically motivated, so maybe a king wanted to make his kingdom a certain way so he totally found this random addition to the bible totally under the floorboards like magic and it totally magically just aligns with all the shit he agrees with
or you're invading another group and that group has this religion they do so now magically all their traditions are totally of the devil and super evil and so you should never do them bro etc etc. The one case I'll say where religion actually has any sort of positive effect on the morality of any person is if you have a total fucking schizo who just REALLY wants to murder somebody, but he's also GIGAreligious so his love of the bible prevents him from living out this fantasy. But that's such an extreme outlier situation and it's 50/50 whether that guy just starts committing religiously motivated murders instead lol

Human nature I guess. Look at the animals closest to us chimpanzees and how they treat each other at times. Civilization and religion etc at least brought some order to this.

Just look at the female hypergamy now that these barriers in the west have been lowered for them. And unlike Chimps they don't even give the low status male a courtesy lay when they aren't fertile at the time.
