Hypothetically speaking if the tongue remains pushed at the upper palate while mouthbreathing will it cause the same negative effects. Most people mouthbreaths opening the lower jaw but if the tongue don't push constantly at the lower palate with significant force how can it cause maxilla to drop down at worse it will cause some asymmetries. Cranial base is what determines length, width (fwhr) and gonial angle of the face.
