So I have the option of choosing one. If I want to get a great mandible, which one do I go with?

MSE+FM is set in stone, but I'm not sure what to do about the mandible pre-bimax

It really depends on each person and on how much expansion is obtained with the MSE (and where the expansion is obtained, if mainly anterior or mostly parallel-posterior)

So it is not a decision that can be taken beforehand, you must be prepared (financially and emotionally) for any option.

Basically what I want is to get simultaneous mandible gains along with the maxilla.

So which one is more likely to create a masculine lower third: MSDO or IMDO?

MSDO or IMDO?
MSDO is for expansion and should be done simultaneously with MSE (surgically assisted) so you won't get crossbite later from MSE.

IMDO is for 'lenghtening' the lower jaw, meaning it's similar to BSSO procedure but far less invasive. And you would need to get lefort 1 done after IMDO if you have normal bite.

If i would choose, i would get MSE + MSDO and then IMDO
(or bsso) + Lefort 1 done

I think you cannot do imdo without an overbite or a surgically moved maxilla, but I may be wrong.

msdo wont rly masculinize ur lower third in the way u want, but wont u need a significant overjet for imdo? ur ortho would prob need to decide what the easiest option is tbh.

I don’t advice doing simultaneously any of these procedures. Fist MSE, then decide the steps to follow.

I have seen your pictures and definitely IMDO given the choice between the two.

MSDO is not the most aesthetic procedure giving a U-shaped mandibular arc or bow.

Thanks a lot.

So does the second sentence mean that it would give you a narrow oval jawline?

Is MSDO/IMDO available in the uk? does anyone know any uk doctors who specialise in this?

would bsso require lefort 1?

not if you have an overjet but it’s better combine with lefort 1 because you can advance more
