I know I said I was gonna make a whole documentation on my self install journey but I’m kinda lazy to make a long ass post about it. But I finally got MSE installed. Man let me tell you, it was a pain in the ass at times but at the same time it was fairly simple. When I first started to install it I had injected myself with lidocaine, but since I like to dick around it eventually wore off before I even got halfway thru it so I basically installed the whole MSE into my skull with no anesthesia JFL. I felt every bit of the screw goin into my skull & everything. It hurt like a bitch at times but most of it wasn’t very bad at all tbh. I decided to get rid of the molar bands with hooks after installs it was mainly used for alignment but I eventually got sick of having it in there, it made it so hard to chew & shit so they were cut out. I’ll be doing facepulling from the MSE itself. I’m currently at day 1 of turning & I’m at 5 turns, I feel no pain at all lol. Will continue with 5 turns a day until split then do 2 a day after split. Since I’m not makin a full documentation anymore, jus feel free to ask about anything from this process & I’ll tell ya what I can about it!

Oh man it was fuckin rough at times. Like an 8/10, 10 being passing out. But I ain’t a pussy jfl. It got easier over time, I learned to bear w it & try to take my mind off it. It wasn’t always painful tho it was jus occasional which was good.

1. About two months for entire MSE process then it will be left in for another couple months to keep from relapsing. So about 4 months, 6 months TOPS.
2. It might, but I’m always gonna be keeping my teeth together so hopefully my lower will follow a bit, I was more than likely going to get MSDO afterwards anyways
3. I went to the ortho once to try & get it & they wouldn’t do it so I said fuck it & that why I did it myself jfl. I will go to an ortho soon tho since it’s in & then we’ll work together on it.

you need to screw then in deeper, you can probably get away with no anesthetic if you turn extremely slow, do not over tighten them though

edit- they are more in than I first thought they were however still not enough, a little more screwing would definitely be in your best interest, bicortical engagement is crucial

I been wondering if I should go deeper cuz they look like they can goo deeper & I know I could get them jus a lil bit deeper but I wasn’t sure if I’d need to or not. Should I turn all the way back & then screw in deeper?

Personally I would go a little deeper (I did my self) when I realized one screw could go deeper, I used the thumb drive and screwed extremely slowly and I had minimal pain

you may be fine with how it currently is, however for highest chance of success going slightly deeper is optimal

You don’t need to unscrew/rescrew, they are in a good position as is

Nawh at this point I’m kinda jus immune to it from installing it with like no anesthesia jfl. When I do some tads tho I start to feel a lil tightness & a lil bit of dull pain. I can’t tell if it’s from the tads or from the mse pushin against my palate ?
