Yes, unfortunately not documented but looking at old pics I did gain a little bit of mouth width. I wouldn't count on it though, and I definitely did this mostly for palate (as you can understand from the before)

Ah that depends on how fucked ur bite is. Also if ur teeth are tipped inward. More malocclusion the bigger the gain.

Also for anyone wondering, the breathing benefits have been IMMACULATE. Seriously I have never been able to breathe through my nose this easily in my fucking life. I get allergies pretty often and my nose used to get clogged super easily, I can firmly say those days are long gone. MSE is step one to any looksmaxxing / life improvement protocol confirmed

Expanded the maxilla 8mm and mandible 9mm at 18 years old and am now finishing with invisalign (tray 20/32) at 20 years old. My palate width went from ~37mm at the second molar to ~45mm at the third molars. The expansion stage took about 1 year. Oh and sorry about the bad camera quality in the...

So I guess you wouldn't recommend MSE for facial aesthetics, because it's so minor the differences? Was the mouth much wider at all, or only subtly.

I consider palate and zygos pretty big factors in facial aesthetics, especially with the impact that widened zygos have on FWHR, and combining MSE and buccal fat removal (if necessary) can give hollow cheeks as long as you have a good base to start with. It depends on your specific case. For undereye results I would steer you toward considering implants.

I'm very curious about all this. I'm looking at all options right now.

This gap in between your two front teeth - is this because of previous extractions? Like, if you didn't have extractions in the past, would the gap be smaller? Or is it simply because your palate widened really fast before the teeth could "catch up" to the expansion? I guess I'm just wondering if your ortho could've prevented such a large gap. Or is there an option to bring the teeth together without losing the gains and without having to install a fake tooth in there?

I was fucking around, sorry. They just install invisalign, and the gains from MSE are kept. The molar bands are removed and the appliance is kept in place until bone fills where the suture was split, taking 4-6 months. The only extractions I have had are wisdom teeth, so no, the gap is unavoidable.
