I met this girl 5 years ago and we kicked it off pretty quickly. A lot of shared interests, common hobbies, that entire 9-yards. We adopted some cats and just lived peacefully together for about 4 years.
She was always averse to pornographic material -- she hated anything that involved genitals, breasts, anything that could be viewed as even remotely sexual. That was, until about 7 months ago. She began speaking to a boy online who had been sending her explicit material (pornographic images, porn comics, hentai, etc) and she brought it to my attention and let me know that she was actually becoming comfortable with the idea of these things. She told me her friend is an artist, he's gay, he isn't interested in women, etc. None of it was true. I didn't do my due diligence and probe, but the boy turned out to be a 17-year old living in the UK. They had, behind my back, been talking almost constantly while I was at work, sleeping, out of the house, just any time that they could.
A concert for a band she "liked" announced they would be touring in the UK and she and some girlfriends were overjoyed to go and finally get to see them live. I fronted the cost for the ticket to and from, all necessary gear, basically everything she needed. One of her girlfriends let me know that a boy showed up to the concert and they spent the entire time glued to eachother, and afterwards they headed back to his parents' place. It just coincidentally happened that the concert lined up with this boys' birthday, and he was 18 as of that morning.
One of her friends got in touch with me to tell me that she didn't come back with them that night, and that she hasn't spent the night with them since. She has spent every moment with this newly-18-year-old boy.
I'm trying my best to just cope with the situation, but after speaking with her very briefly about it (in which she did admit to cheating, although she denies any allegations of grooming) I don't see any reason for me to try. I think she made up her mind 7 months ago when she decided to groom and fuck a (at the time) child.
What are your tips to getting over this incredible, overwhelming heartache? She has no intentions of coming back to the US according to the friends I've spoken with (despite her VISA being limited), and a large number of important things here are in both of our names (Car, Apartment, animals, etc). What can I even do in this situation?
