My CBCT Scans Discussion - I have the DICOM files themselves

Looking at my CBCT scan right now, and trying to figure out just how much I'm clinically recessed. Pretty sure I measured my SNA angle correctly at about 79.8 degrees which is just high enough to not be considered recessed technically.

Don't wanna get lefort 1 as it would do jack shit for my "upper maxilla". Below is another picture of what my SNA angle would be if I somehow managed to get 4mm of protraction on the maxilla.

Much better at around 82.8 degrees. At this point I'd have to perma jut, which is fine as my mandible is more comfortable jutting anyway, I do it without realizing throughout the day. Also, here is my narrow ass high vaulted fucking palate.

It's so sad because I genuinely have insanely flared gonions, great browridge, wide zygos. But just 0 fucking projection whatsoever. My cheekbones are literally invisible from the front. Also my gonial angle doesn't seem too bad.

I have my CBCT scan files in hand if anyone wants some other measurements. Am I downgrown? Recessed?

Edit: I'm not sure actually, I think the mandible can autorotate but idk the amount it can do healthily/it's maximum

Indeed yes you do have awesome masseteric tuberosity, does this translate to irl where you have a nice jaw from the front? But I wanna say that just because the bone looks good it doesn't serve an aesthetic purpose it just signifies a good masseter which is generally what produces good jaws

The thing is my lower jaw has to manually go backwards to align my bite. I dont know if you see what I mean, but naturally, my lower jaw just goes forward throughout the day, and it's natural position, my teeth do NOT align. I've been compensating my entire life, pulling my lower jaw backward, so if my maxilla came forward just 4mm, it would be perfect.

Yes bro thank you. In my frontal view, my jaw is fucking insane. I always find that girls are much more feminine, submissive and co-operative when they haven't had the chance to get a good look at my 3/4 or side profile . Always wondered why things would go so well with women at first, then out of nowhere they lose interest.

Absolutely 0 ogee curve, infact I have the neotenous chubby cheeks caused by lack of zygos. And my eye area is barely saved by my good browridge and (I think) good lateral rims. 0 undereye support. Moderately negative orbital vector.

Your jaw looks robust in terms of bones, I'm more interested in your airway from these pics though. Looks really small. Bimax would improve that for sure

Looks cooked as fuck. Probably more around 14cc since the area on the left is wrongly included. In another CBCT where I maintain proper tongue posture it's more around 16-17cc.

Some nights I sleep amazing. Some nights I literally wake up gasping for air. Total 100% blockage. Did a sleep study an my AHI is fucking 5 LOL so it must be something that comes and goes where my tongue falls backwards.

DJS is NOT an option as I already have the monkeymaxx look, on account of having nonexistent cheekbones. The only option really is giving the tongue more space with some kind of palate expander.

Not particularly. My nose base is about 28mm. I understand expansion can make it bigger.

This is the coronal slice, taken between the premolars and the 1st molar.

I've seen some pretty bad MARPE results where the person ends up looking fucking UNCANNY bro. Like some kind of ogre. imo they did it to themselves by not stopping soon enough.

I'll take the thing off at 3mm if I start to see bad aesthetic changes. To hell with the $10k

I like being able to add more posterior expansion (which is relevant to the airway). Segmented leforts ftw. Only issue here is that your teeth already have a near perfect bite by the looks of things

Apparently FME has parallel expansion (the same amount posteriorly and anteriorly). But the problem is the suture between the sphenoid and the maxilla is strong as fuck, so much more than the other sutures. So you end up with a somewhat V shaped expansion.

Only issue here is that your teeth already have a near perfect bite by the looks of things

Which makes me think maybe this is the way my face was supposed to develop. Kinda fucked up when you think about it.

I'll make updates if expansion works for me, and we'll see what happens.
