I have no idea where this came from or why i do it but around 13 i started daydreaming about playing video games instead of being at school but over the years this shit has gone completely insane, honestly you could probably create hundreds of hollywood movies with my retarded fantasies, if i’m not daydreaming i get really fucking angry and stressed over the smallest shit that doesn’t matter. Its weird as fuck but I guess its good for escapism

Most people that chronically daydream aren't conscious of themselves daydreaming. Anyway it's a major abused dog trait

Its called Maladaptive Day Dreaming and it's coping from trauma. Your mind at one point was traumatized by something and then went this path, seeking dopamine. I have this shit and do it like 2-3hrs a day and there is literally no cure to this shit ( apart from meditating a fuck ton and curing that trauma and accepting it. ). There is no cure because its an addiction to dopamine. This is just like smoking but worse in the sense that you're wasting time in your imagination when you could put that creativity into some form of art. The upside is that your imagination is very vivid. Hope this helped bro :)

Amazing explanation bro. I have this Maladaptive Daydreaming for as long as I can remember. Some times I feel like im crazy because of every crazy thing I dream about. I usually make plots about how I am always the main center of attention and do some heroic thing and get praised like hell. ITS FUCKING INSANE. Its one of the biggest coping mechanisms out there.

Same here. Don't worry about it though if you want to fix it, start meditating 10min a day increase from there. You always try to notice whenever you're doing your MDD sessions and just try to stop it if you can. I've also noticed how excited/sad you feel to something makes you want to MDD more ( at least in my case, I get excited or motivated from something and go on an hour long MDD session before I realize nigger wtf are you doing? and stop. ) Also notice the time of when you do your MDD sessions bc your brain could be wired to do it right after waking up/before sleep/afternoon/before eating etc... and just force yourself to do something else at those times. You should also look back and try to find traumatic experiences which might've caused this thing to happen ( traumatic as in mental not physical trauma. Even though it could happen from physical trauma, the chances are rare and it's a very specific type of trauma that might've prompted coping with imagination) and relive that traumatic experience and just accept it. You will subconsciously or consciously stop doing MDD because you will have realized that the trauma that caused it is long gone and is accepted etc.. ( Idk how it works, a friend told me about it and I'm not a psychiatrist but whatever the fuck has a small chance of working is waaay better than 0% )

This doesn't work for me but could work for you: Put a screen time of 1hr on yt ( assuming you don't use yt on phone and that you listen to music while doing MDD sessions. Also for the fucking sake of god don't go from normal MDD to listening to music MDD, much worse and harder to cure.) and when you MDD you could realize nigger I wasted 1hr on this shit when I could've worked on another thing.

Another thing to realize is to not get angry and REEEEEEE yourself. If you notice anger and anxiety setting in after your MDD sessions, just mentally note " angry " or " anxious " and just move on. If you worry about shit you'll just fuck yourself in the ass in every aspect of life. Its ok to get angry but its not ok to seethe 24/7 while also not doing anything to solve that issue.
PM me if you want help on meditating or some other shit related to this.
Hope this helped brah. Good luck.

The main root of escapism is the unfullfilness from the reality
The reality is too bleak and unfulfilling for you that your mind has to cope by creating a false world , the only place where those fantasies can come true
Many users/larpers rotting here 24/7 is just another exqmple of this .
Many people day dream but without awareness OP . Like others , id recommend some mindfulness meditation everyday to bring yourself back to the reality , without judging it and labelling it either good or bad.
Also most autism like this happens when someone LDARs too much. If you engage yourself in a real thing like outdoors (not gaming) , then this can alleviate

i got this shit, possibly the final boss i have to face in order to become mostly neurotypical again. so far the practice of mindfulness is the only considered solution for it and im high key considering joining a local meditation temple or whatever and be there part time till this stops
