My doctor put me on doxycycline

I tried to go on Accutane but my dad is big on me growing to be big and strong and after hearing about the closing of growth plates on Accutane, it was a quick no. I had to go on doxycycline for my acne. I keep seeing threads saying how damn shit it is for you but I need my damn acne gone. So I have some questions if it really is THAT bad. Like I might fuck my gut a lil but ill do that for clear skin. A lil fucked up gut is better than being short from Accutane.

For me it was both went on accutane after doxy for 2 months and then accu for 4 and was advised to hop off due to liver problems and now still breaking out like crazy took doxy once again still didn't work was advised to hop on accu again but i refused

doxy and other antibitoics are great bridiging therapies to use whilst waiting for accutane initiation or whilst waiting for a topical retinoid to kick in. it should never be used by itself.

you should use one of the following with the doxycycline otherwise your acne will come back worse than before, choose one that you like:
- epiduo (a combination of benzyol peroxide + adapalene, a retinoid)
- tretinoin 0.05% for the first 2 months then tretinoin 0.1%
- tazarotene 0.1% cream (best if acne is severe)
