This is a guide on how to skinmaxx to be a total foid slayer
(This is my first guide so cut me some slack)
Everything I will be saying in this guide is what I have personally done and what has worked for me.

First I would like to start off by saying that this is what WORKED FOR ME meaning this may not work for you but it most likely will.

Backstory
The history of my skin and skincare is pretty simple: I never really had acne up until 11th grade. I would sometimes get a small pimple here and there on my forehead or on my cheek, but nothing crazy. Randomly, my forehead started breaking out. I didn't really think anything of it, just kept washing my face and using moisturizer almost every night. Then I got a small breakout out my cheek, and I knew I had to utilize a real skincare routine, not just washing my face every night and that's it.

TRETINOIN
Tretinoin was the first major addition to my skincare routine.

Tretinoin is a vitamin A derivative that works within the skin to regulate how quickly new cells develop and shed. By preventing buildup inside pores, it can help reduce breakouts and make the skin clearer and "glass-like". Consistent use can also encourage collagen production, improving the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture, and discoloration. Because it can be irritating at first, some people experience dryness, flaking, redness, or increased sensitivity before their skin gradually adjusts.

To start out, I recommend using 0.025%, but if you're a fucking boss like me, start at 0.05% (only do it if you know you don't have sensitive skin).
I started with 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), and I use the Sandwich Method. if you're asking yourself what that is, be patient fuckface I will get to that

First things first, we want to make sure that you are washing your face before use. Thoroughly wash your face and pat dry with a washcloth.

Second, we want to apply a thin layer of your moisturizer of choice, which I personally use based but use whatever one you like.

Third, we want to apply a PEA-SIZED dot of tret on your finger and use that pea-sized dot to create small dots around your face. rub that in, trying to avoid your lips, corners of lips, and corners of your nose (the little creases right next to your nose)

Finally,
apply another layer of moisturizer overtop of the tret.
(WAIT 3 MINUTES IN BETWEEN ALL OF THESE STEPS TO ENSURE THEY DRY PROPERLY)

Now, In the mornings we want to make sure to use an spf moisturizer, because tret makes our skin more sensitive to sunlight. Personally I use CeraVe 50spf moisturizer.

ACCUTANE (ISOTRETINOIN)
Accutane (isotretinoin) is a powerful oral retinoid that treats acne by significantly reducing oil production and helping prevent pores from becoming clogged. Accutaner dramatically shrinks sebaceous glands, usually around 70-90%, which also makes your nose shrink but thats a story for a different day. It can also decrease inflammation and reduce the conditions that allow acne-causing bacteria to thrive, making it effective for persistent or severe acne. The longer you take it, breakouts typically become less frequent, and the skin can gradually become clearer. Because it is potent, common effects include dry lips, dry skin, irritation, and increased sun sensitivity.

I started researching Accutane and found out that microdosing it would be the best fit for me. I have seen different ways people microdose Accutane, like 10mg daily, 20mg daily, and 40mg every 3 days.

The microdosing method I used was 10mg every day. The reason I decided to go with 10mg every day was so I could have the least amount of side effects. Mitigating side effects can be very time-consuming and sometimes can be pretty expensive. The ONLY side effect I got from 10mg daily was dry skin and lips in the morning. This was very very easy to get rid of, as all I had to do was wake up and put on moisturizer for my skin, and aquaphor on my lips.

Because this is a microdose and not the full dose of accutane (40-80mg daily), results will take longer to come through. For me, it took around 2 months to start seeing small results, but this may vary from person to person.

AZELAIC ACID

Azelaic acid is a skincare ingredient that helps with acne, redness, and uneven skin tone. It works by keeping pores from getting clogged and reducing inflammation, which can help prevent new breakouts. It can also fade dark spots left behind by acne and make your skin look more even over time. When you first start using it, you might notice some tingling, dryness, or irritation, but that usually gets better as your skin gets used to it.

There are different strengths to choose from, usually 10%, 15%, and 20%. I started straight with 20%, but I recommend starting with 15% if you have sensitive skin. It is very important that you allow your skin to get used to azelaic acid, as using it everyday can absolutely FRY your skin barrier. when utilizing azelaic acid alongside tretinoin, it is important that you DO NOT use them at the same time. I recommend starting azelaic acid in the morning, twice a week, adding a day every 2 weeks so that your skin can adjust to it properly. Some people say that you should work up to everyday, then after 1 month of doing it everyday incorperate it into your nighttime routine, applying alongside tret every night, but I do not see a point in this.

To apply azelaic acid in the morning, refer back to the "sandwich method" above.
