Gotta just test and wait. But yeah, it should be okay if you wear sunscreen and moisturizer (obviously).

Purging and dryness (flaking) at first were normal. At least for me, I used Tretinoin on the highest dose, .1% (it was my dad's). And it was rough, but starting lower, like you are, should be good.

ok but my point was most people take accutane for a cumulative dose & stop when they reach it & this provides them with long lasting clear skin

20s=no puberty? Wrong. I took accutane for a year as soon as I could take it. Acne is either toxicity or hormonal, but almost always hormonal. Bodybuilders, women during menopause, etc. The 20s are the times where many have the highest dht/androgens (when beards can be grown/when balding starts) so obviously acne is still prevalent. If you said 30s that would make sense but how many 30-40yo do you see with acne? @tansel

My dermatologist and the one I shadowed said about the exactly the same thing I mentioned above, that a lot of accutane “success stories” are just hormones dying down since accutane is usually the last resort in a medical practice (1-2 yrs topicals +antibiotics). Why don’t you leave the advice and comments to someone with experience and knowledge?

So the 20-40% of people who actually get acne after taking it don’t exist? Easiest data ever. The androgen comment is me refuting that 80-60% of “success stories” with, if you trust me, word from two separate dermatologists in the USA saying the exact same thing.

What I’m getting at here is that accutane has way more drawbacks than the actual success that results from it, and the dogma that it’s a miracle drug only comes from people with no pharmaceutical experience or literature behind it. I’ve made mistakes that affected my life so I’m explaining this now to you and this thread so others don’t take this bohemian of a drug
