there's this guy called Jawhacks who got the palate expander at like 20+ smth (not sure tho) and he experienced change, so there's still time for expansion. only side effect he got from what I remember was that he lost some bone density using a very new gadget which made his teeth move other than that he got results.

i personally believe that the difference between an adolescent and early adult facial sutures is that us teens still have bone development left meaning we won't see much side effects by manipulating sutures as the bone denisty can just fill in with more natural development.

don't worry it's very plausible that we're all biologically wired the same when it comes to late facial sutures flexibility (since it just fuses gradually over a long period of time as opposed to for example epiphyseal growth plates). now for sleep apnea im not very knowledgeable about it BUT if you expand im pretty sure it'll open ur airways and fix the issue
