Is it surgically possible to pull the nasal septum fowards during a LeFort 1 maxillary advancement?

The before/after bomax/LF1 results I saw seem to leave the nose in place as the bone around and below it are moved forward, leaving the nose flatter/snubbier after.

I don’t want to get that unaesthetic squished-flat nose outcome. Can surgeons advance the nose with the maxilla in one piece, or must the nasal septum be adjusted in a separate rhino procedure?

Knowing what looks good is aesthetic/artistic knowledge.

Knowing how surgery works, what can and can’t be done, safety risks, etc. is medical knowledge.

Having one doesn’t magically give you the other.

If you make a cut above the anterior nasal spine, the tip should move together with upper lip, no?

All this examples did that because in 80% of all bimax cases they do this, but the their is more too it

I didn't know that! I actually thought it's supposed to go below normally. I thought that's why the nose normally stays behind, but I guess not.

I mean the nose bridge dont follow, not even in leforte 2 i think. And nasal tip might get more squished and upturned rather then actual projecting more. You would need rib cartiallge to build the nose up or use some kind of nose implant like gortex like they do in asia

This is a le fort 2, or a modified le fort 1 wich trough the nasal spine and brings it forward, it depends from case to case if the nose changes dramatically (depending by the nose and how much mm's you did on the lefort, and you would still not know how it turns out because of the soft tissue and how it reacts).

Now on why this happen, the reason is that the nasal bridge (nasion) stays behind wich leads to this change.

Hopefully this explained it well, correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes
With either LeFort II or LeFort I + Open Rhinoplasty.
Otherwise no.
