Hello everyone,
I’m at a point where I feel really lost and could use some advice.
When I was 16, I was basically a nobody at school and got bullied a lot because of my weight and appearance. Around my 17th birthday, I decided to change things. I started going to the gym and managed to lose about 22 kg. Right now I’m in decent shape. I also mostly got rid of my acne, although I still have some scars.
Currently, I have a recessed mandible. I’m 18 now and undergoing orthodontic treatment (braces). My orthodontist told me that at this age, they can’t fix my jaw with orthodontics alone — only camouflage it with braces, and that the real solution would be surgery (like bimax or Le Fort).
So I have a lot of questions in my mind:
If anyone has experience with similar situations or any advice in general (aesthetic, medical, or lifestyle), I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

- Should I continue with camouflage treatment, or wait 1–2 years and go for jaw surgery (bimax / Le Fort)?
- I’ve also been thinking about TRT — would it help improve bone mass or my situation in any way?
If anyone has experience with similar situations or any advice in general (aesthetic, medical, or lifestyle), I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance
