I've said this several times but I feel like this needs at least one thread dedicated to the matter. For the sake of everyone's health. I recommended botox before and I can't be responsible if anyone gets hurt because of it.

Botulinum neurotoxin is the most lethal poison known to man. It's even deadlier than tetanus toxin. It kills by inhibiting neurotransmission at the neuromuscular junction, which leads to flaccid paralysis. Botulism kills by inducing respiratory failure. There are only very few direct treatment options and it often goes undiagnosed. Botulinum neurotoxin A, the serotype used in botox, dysport and xeomin has a long-lasting effect on motor neurons. It's considered safe because the injected toxin is expected to act only locally and is generally only used in small amounts. The truth is that it can and does actually spread within the body and people have developed botulism from botox injections, some have even died. Many people got neurological issues such as muscle weakness in the limbs, coordination difficulties, leg paralysis, blurry vision, dizziness, permanent nerve damage etc. All it takes is your doctor accidentally hitting a blood vessel or administering the wrong dose.

Stay the fuck away from it! I hope this can change anyone's mind who is considering botox.

if your masseter is too hypertrophied it will look rounded and possibly wider than your cheekbones, that will make your face rounded even when the bones underneath are angular (jaw). some people have good masseter insertions and wont look rounded, but others have rounded masseters when very hypertrophied so you need a way to atrophy it.

Its impossible for me to stop botox. I get it since almost 2 years, and the perfect wrinkle free glowing forehead is worth for me to take the small risk of complications.

This thread is just throwing fear into Botox. I had a bad complication (<1% chance) with my rhino but I would still recommend people to get it.

She instantly knew what I was referring to, & I had 14 units at $9/unit injected into my frontalis & procerus muscles, the majority went into the frontalis. No fillers just Botox, & results rival a good % or surgical interventions.

I was dumb and did a bunch of heavy lifting and moving 2 weeks after surgery. I had a massive nosebleed out of my nostrils, mouth, and eyes for multiple days in a row. Needed surgery to fix it. Still don’t regret getting it.

Ignorance is bliss right. I thought so too for 1 1/2 years until my 5th treatment made me sicker than I've ever been. Trust me, botulism is sth you do not want to experience ever. The risk of blindness is way smaller than botox spread and systemic complications. Your doc would need to inject it right into an artery that feeds the eyes. Just look at the studies I linked above. Botox-induced botulism is much more common than that. At this point I wouldn't even mess with fillers but still, botox is much more dangerous

I went to a very experienced plastic surgeon who's been doing this for a very long time. It still spread to my limbs and diaphragm last time. It's not just about the injector, complications do occur sometimes, even if he does everything by the book

Also, 1 unit of botox isn't the same as 1 unit of dysport or xeomin, which are more potent or concentrated. I received xeomin. 15 units of xeomin is like 45 units of botox in terms of potency

You are either incredibly retarded or ignorant. Read the last research paper I linked under Lorsss' tag. Complications aren't rare and its long term effects on the nervous system aren't even completely understood yet.

I'm probably the realest person in the whole forum and I wouldn't have made this thread if I didn't experience complications from botox myself. As someone who recommended and used sth that eventually turned out bad for himself, I felt obligated to do so in order to prevent others getting hurt because of my actions. Especially after doing a ton of research, which you are dismissing in the most disrespectful way without taking a single glance at the evidence
