In short, I am considering the introduction of an appeal system for warnings. This thread is to gauge the receptiveness to the possible change.

What would change?
  • Eligibility: Users who received a certain warning level or higher (e.g. 30%), and who meet other specified criteria (e.g. non-repeat offender), can appeal their warnings.
  • Appeal Process: Eligible users submit their case through a form, providing details and any supporting evidence.
  • Review: The appeal will undergo an independent, anonymous review by staff to ensure fairness and moderator accountability.
Proposed Appeal System Overview:
  • Collective Staff Review: Appeals will be reviewed by the entire staff, not limited to the warning issuer.
  • Anonymous Staff Voting: Decisions on each appeal will be made through an anonymous staff vote, with options to retract the warning, reduce its percentage, or maintain it as is.
The criteria for eligibility aren't entirely established yet, so it may be subject to some changes.

If you support the change, vote for Option 1. If you prefer the system to stay as it is, vote for Option 2.

don’t warnings last 1 month anyway?

You gotta be a serious nuisance if you get 100% in 30 days…

You would be surprised to witness how certain users can accumulate as much as 70 percent within a single week. Also, for specific offenses, penalties of 20 percent may be assigned, while for others, it could go beyond 30 percent and even higher.

Voting for option 1 just in case I have something to lean on in the future

I hate to be a kiss-ass, but is it really that hard to follow the rules on this forum? The rules here I would hardly consider strict and yet aren't enforced.

This system accounts for potentially unjust or overly harsh warnings, acknowledging that moderation is not infallible.

Voted 2 because Option 1 sounds like a lot of work.

I value the mods‘ time too much to force them to sit through shizo-unban meetings everyday.

They are unpaid slaves from within our own ranks, we can‘t kill all their fun.

If you got an unjust or overly harsh punishment and didn‘t establish any credibility with at least one mod who could swing things your way you probably don‘t deserve the unban anyway.

Appreciated. Seriously. I don't know though, it seems alright but I wonder how it will work considering we have a bunch of new mods that don't really know the ropes yet.

Now get us the „watch a user“-feature back, so we get notifications when they post new threads, and life will be good again.

Trying to charm the entire mod team at once, hm? Could come in handy for future favors, I guess

Sub-moderators wouldn't be part of the equation.
It'll be a simple appeal system, users write one lengthy version (where they can elaborate if they wish) and one summarized, three-bullet point version (to give the moderators a gist of the appeal, if they don't want to read the lengthy version), and they take a vote.
The requirements to appeal will need to be figured out to keep the workload manageable.

Bro, is probably still trying to figure out how to turn it into a paid-VIP feature, else he would have added it back long ago 👃

This is the only part that really needs to be added. I believe this was already the case sometimes where if a mod was inactive another would just answer the appeal.

It sounds like this whole anonymous independent form thing will really just make it easy for users to never get a second chance if mods are biased.

Honestly I agree, but I still think doxxing, and no females should be banned aswell.

I agree because i rescently got a 70% warning for doxing when the guy literally posted his pic before and apperantly deleted it with VIP later

Is everyone just supposed to know that? In my opinion the most I should get for that is a deletion on my thread not a 2 day ban and 70% warning unless I repost him after the thread got deleted

exactly

nothing more entertaining than self-identifying alpha males who regularly berate women suddenly becoming pathetic simps for a terminally online girl showing 1/8 of her face that has been airbrushed
