carti's new album was a dissapointment

the feeling i thought he would invoke in MUSIC was not what i expected it to be

in CARNIVAL it was dark and empowering, in HOODBYAIR the same thing, BACKROOMS, and especially KETAMINE

i would listen to ketamine when it came out on his opium ig acc on repeat, i focused on the intro to the song

very dark very powerful it was exactly how i liked i loved it even

then his album came out. first song was a banger. it was a perfect start and invoked the feeling i remembered

and the outro... omfg fuck fuck fuck... perfection. i would literally listen to the outro specifically on repeat. beautfiful

and then the rest of the album is shit, many of the song just dont invoke the feeling at all. very mid apart from TRIM.

Yeah, I was EXPECTING a similar sound to HOODBYAIR which is unironically his BEST SONG in my opinion -- although I did like the DIVERSITY of the sounds he was using in the SINGLES before the album. While the REAL ALBUM was not as good as expected, there are some GOOD TRACKS on there, with COCAINE NOSE especially using the NARCISSIST era guitar sound that I wish he implemented for the ENTIRE album.
