NIACIN: GROWTH HORMONE,SKIN,AND HAIR BENIFITS (GTFIH)

Niacin:
-Niacin or vitamin B3 is a substance found naturally in foods and beverages. It is a necessary vitamin for good health and longevity, and many studies have noted its potential and efficiency when taken in large doses as supplements. These benefits include:

Benefit 1: Increases Growth Hormone: 400% increase
View attachment 200895
-Must take without fats ideally on empty stomach.
Niacin works by suppressing Free Fatty Acids and Insulin, which are both critical suppressors for GH release

Suppression of FFA: "Doses administered every 2 hours did not increase GH concentrations significantly. However, at a dose of 500 mg hourly for 4 doses, there was significant suppression of free fatty acids to the pre-specified outcome (<0.2 mEq/L) and detectable increases in growth hormone concentration. "
View attachment 200897

Suppression of Insulin:
View attachment 200898

Note: Flaws of this study are that patients were obese (mean BMI 26.4)
View attachment 200900
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3319738/
Since FM and FFA is directly correlated, the effects of FFA suppression on obese patients is much more pronounced, meaning GH realistically wont increase by 400%
- The age of participants doesn’t really matter, since many studies have shown that suppression of fat free mass also increases GH in adults
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18187617 (This is the same reason that Sprinting spikes growth hormones)

Benefit 2: Improves cholesterol levels, and Decreases mortality rates
HDL=Good Cholesterol; high levels reduce risk of heart disease
LDL=Bad Cholesterol; high levels increase risk of heart disease
View attachment 200901
Niacin is more effective than gemfibrozil (which is a drug used to treat abnormal blood lipids). Unlike gemfibrozil, which increase both HDL and LDL, Niacin increases HDL while Decreasing LDL.
View attachment 200903
This is reflected in Mortality rates where Niacin users lived on average 2years longer (11% lower mortality rate). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3782631)

Benefit 3: Hair health and anti-balding

-Niacin reduces the viscosity, or thickness, of blood (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14642410), this promotes circulation to the scalp which is evident through its flushing mechanism. This is important because Balding men have 2.6X less circulation in their scalp (https://www.jidonline.org/article/0022-202X(89)90189-9/pdf) which indicates Naicin treatment could be beneficial

.-Everyone knows DHT is partly responsible for Hairloss, one reason is because it inhibits wound healing (https://jcs.biologists.org/content/119/4/722). Rather than reducing DHT like most oral treatments, Niacin reduces markers of inflammation (hs-CRP) by 20% (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17935553) This could counter act the inflammatory anti wound healing effect of high DHT

-Niacin rebuilds Keratin, hair is 95% keratin
- View attachment 200904(mirin art skills?)

-People worry that since Niacin releases pgd2 (which when interacts with GPR44 inhibits hair loss), however Niacin flushes pgd2 to a different receptor which doesn’t inhibit hairloss. Actually by flushing pgd2, it makes less pgd2 available to interact with GPR44, and could therefore slowdown hair loss.

Benefit 4: Prevents Sun damage and Treats acne
-Reverses Sun damage and protects against sun even when used orally (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20354654). This is great for collagen, “Collagen I formation was 56 percent less in the papillary dermis of photo damaged skin than in skin protected from the sun (P<0.001)” https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199308193290803 . This makes it beneficial for reducing risk of skin cancer (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26488693)
-Niacin can be used to treat acne, with "Percentage Improvement in the niacin group (82.37±7.837)" Since it is an oral treatment, it can be used in conjunction with your normal acne routine. Unlike Local antibiotics or retinoid, it doesn’t irritate and cause inflammation, therefore will not break you out or cause purging
(https://www.researchgate.net/public..._the_treatment_of_acne_vulgaris_a_pilot_study)

Benefit 4: Weightless
- Supplementation of Niacin increases Leptin concentrations. Leptin is an anti-obesity hormone which signals the brain to reduce food intake (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7984236/), in animal models exogenous leptin supplementation led to weight loss (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16988703/). Niacin increases leptin levels by (26.8%) (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16887123). It also increases Adiponectin by 56% (a hormone which breaks down fatty acids)
- Niacin also increases the concentrations of ketones in the blood (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9927497) , ketones have the following benefits “Mood, longer lasting energy, lowering blood pressure, reversing insulin resistance and cognitive enhancements.”
- Another studies showed that “Prolonged niacin treatment leads to increased adipose tissue polyunsaturated fatty acid synthesis” (http://www.jlr.org/content/early/2014/10/15/jlr.M051938.full.pdf)

Overall, Niacin has the following benefits
1. Increases of growth hormones (400% increase for 1hour period)
2. Improves cholesterol levels more efficiently than prescription medicine (gemfibrozil), greatly reducing risk of heart disease (number 1 cause of death), which inturn increases life expectancy
3. Decrease in scalp inflammation, increased blood flow, and rebuilds keratin which promotes hair growth
4. Treats acne and acts as oral sunscreen which prevents aging, without causing any irritation. Improving the quality of your skin
5. Helps weightless by suppressing appetite, and increases ketone concentration in blood

Dosage and safety:
- Most studies note that Niacin benefits occur at higher dosages exceeding 500mg.
- This is one of the safest and most well researched supplements, and a trial with 25,000 individuals over 3 years confirmed its safety (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25014686). If anything, Niacin in high dosages benefits health
- Niacin will cause flushing effect, but this will fade with usage. Many users reports that after niacin flush the skin looks more youthful and attractive

If anything it should do the opposite

"Niacin for Relaxation I have published a number of reports discussing the therapeutic uses of niacin and its diverse mechanisms of action.18-21 Niacin is extremely helpful for insomnia because it augments the sedating properties of PharmaGABA® and it ameliorates muscular tension. Many decades ago Dr. Abram Ho#er reported on the sedating properties of niacin based on the vitamin’s ability to augment the e#ects of neuroleptics, anticonvulsants, and barbiturates.22 "e other property that seems therapeutic is the cutaneous $ushing that typically happens within about 15-20 minutes following the oral ingestion of niacin. "e time to $ush can be delayed, for instance, depending on how much food is in one’s stomach, or can be quickened if the patient had fasted for some reason. "e cutaneous $ushing leads to vasodilatation and reddening of the skin. "e cutaneous $ushing usually begins on the forehead and face and then travels to the bellybutton or toes, usually concentrating on the chest, arms, and knees.22 "e cutaneous $ushing leads to a profound relaxation of hypertonic skeletal muscles, which helps to facilitate restful sleep." https://www.isom.ca/wp-content/uplo...atonin-for-the-Treatment-of-Insomnia-29.3.pdf

Biochem is part of my course, and its super interesting because i understand now certain looksmaxxing shit.
For example how hyaluronic acid retains collagen
If I spent like average 3-4 hours a week learning biochem from the very very beginning, I guess I’d also need to learn chem first. How long do you think it would take me to get to a level where I can comfortably understand these kind of things and not be worried about taking stuff that will mess me up?

Hard to say tbh If youve had no prior chem understanding, then at least a year or 2 of solid work to get to the level im at. Im nowhere near at that point when i can take stuff tho and be sure its alright. Esp, because medicine is my course, not biochem. Ill likely never get to that point. If you have a grasp of the subject, you can def understand the studies behind half the shit this site spews out tbh

Damn alright since I’m still young once I start learning it I’ll just wait a year or two til I get to that level.

Or I could just hire a biochem to read all this literature and interpret it for me and give me a protocol based on it lmao

i thought you weren't supposed to take it daily, only when you had a special event or something like that and you wanted your skin to look good

are you sure it is completely safe to take it daily? thinking of buying some

6 months given 3 hours daily is enough to understand the basic concepts, from there you need some deeper knowledge on topics like general metabolism, endocrinology, bone and skin physiology and you're set for looksmaxxing purposes.

Good thread but this is barely touching the surface. Niacin is integral to the function of the central nervous system.

“Patients can show psychiatric symptoms (i.e., depression, paranoid behaviors, suicide and aggressive tendencies) that disappear when they take niacin [77,78]; some of these symptoms are also related to deficit of serotonin that derives from Trp [78].” This is because “Starting from dietary Trp, niacin is synthesized via the kynurenine pathway (KP).”

Niacin is one of the only things proven to help metabolize serotonin in the brain.

Also don’t get me started on the benefit of niacin flushes, for both looksmaxxing and physical health.

Took 1000mg for the first time today. 5-10 minutes after taking it I got a crazy burning sensation all over my face that soon carried down to my back and my torso and even down to my legs. My face was also solid red. Lasted for about an hour and a half. Can’t really say I’ve seen anything improve face wise. Plan on taking it everyday for a while tho. So hopefully see some improvements

hope you take it with methylated stuff or TMG as suggested. based on what I've read this might actually help hairloss.

Best time would be morning on an empty stomach, need to be in fasted state to experience its effectiveness.
Guys, if you're going to try this, make sure to get the Niacin or Nicotinic Acid (NOT THE VERSION WITHOUT FLUSH)
