Spending years obsessively lifting weights in hopes of becoming more attractive ultimately fails for most men because it focuses on a secondary trait (the body) while ignoring the primary drivers of attraction: the face and height. Specifically the bone structure of the face and how it looks overall. Numerous studies and real-world data show that women prioritise facial aesthetics and height far more than muscle mass when it comes to dating and mate selection. For instance, a 2020 study published in Evolutionary Psychology found that women consistently ranked facial attractiveness and height as significantly more important than body muscularity when choosing both short-term and long-term partners. On dating apps, where split-second impressions matter, men with symmetrical, sharp facial features—even if skinny or not particularly muscular—consistently receive far more matches than average-faced men with athletic builds. In fact, data from Tinder and OKCupid reveals that tall, good-looking men with minimal gym presence often dominate the top percentile of male profiles, while shorter or unattractive men no matter how ripped—struggle to gain traction. This effect is even more pronounced online, where curated photos highlight facial structure and height cues (like proportions or body ratios), and physical presence or charisma can’t compensate. While working out can boost confidence and improve posture, it cannot fundamentally change facial bone structure or increase stature—traits largely determined by genetics and prenatal factors. In truth, unless a man already has a reasonably attractive face or is tall (generally over 5’11”), hitting the gym is unlikely to meaningfully improve his romantic prospects. Muscles might impress other men or earn respect in male spaces, but in the competitive dating market, they are rarely the deciding factor. Time spent obsessively building muscle—without addressing more important variables like facial harmony, skin quality, or perceived height—is often a psychological coping mechanism, not a practical strategy.

All of you will say, ‘Well, I don’t use dating apps, I just date girls I meet in real life.’” But that argument doesn’t hold up under scrutiny, because the exact same visual filtering happens in person just even faster. Countless neuroscience studies have shown that humans, especially women, assess facial attractiveness within milliseconds some researchers estimate as little as 13 milliseconds is all it takes for the brain to make a snap decision on whether someone is attractive or not. That judgment happens before you speak, before you show personality, before status or humor can even register. It’s instinctive, automatic, and almost impossible to override. Women’s brains are biologically wired to rapidly assess facial cues jawline, eye spacing, symmetry, skin clarity, and more—because for most of evolutionary history, those cues were linked to health, good genes, and fertility.

You think that the ugly guy with the ripped bulked up physique is more attractive then the skinny guy with the chad fac because your a male and men think

being ripped = attractive

but females don’t even care about that they only care about your face and height and if your face is attractive especially on dating apps and in real life were your face is always shown on a screen and women can stripe right or left to it it take women 13 milliseconds to look at your face and decipher if there attracted to you or not

Stop thinking like a man think like a woman

Tbh girls that are higher on the attractiveness scale tend to care less abt facial attractiveness in men, its mainly beckies that care the most about height and face and since most females are beckies it results in most females caring most abt face and height
