EXCEPT IF THEY HAVE FUCKED UP TEETH OR A GUMMY SMILE

But outside of these cases, even tho people would objectively be uglier when smiling, they still look better to the human eye in those moments as it registers it as more friendly. Only photos and videos where you see the individual frames or motion captured in a certain way make you think mfs or yourself are uglier when smiling.

my teeth are several levels of fucked up but my smile is pretty decent also know plenty of people with straight ass white teeth that look ugly as fuck smiling.

I totally agree, but its not only the smile making you look friendly, it would also be other features like your eye area and cheeks “lighting you up”
