Yeah, I get that some of you are insecure about your neurodivergence and thus need to deny other people's neurotypicality to feel better about yourselves. Where's my autism, ADHD or schizophrenia diagnosis? Just accept who you are and if your gl enough you can say what you want.

I have already gotten through almost all of Dostoevskys works, Crime and Punishment is my favorite novel of all time along with Oblomov. The Brother's Karamazov is incredible beyond words. The similarities between me and Raskolnikov were eerie and the book saved me, everything from the isolated intelligence, ideas of admirable legacy, reclusion towards family members etc. were all spot on. Flipping between megalomania and self hate. The egoistic awkwardness around others in social interactions where I just see what I learn and can extrapolate from things I encounter in an almost disconnected from people sense. The consequences resulted out of the actions birthed out of the fundamental worldview of Raskolnikov, and by extension me, saved me from going down the same path.

Agree too many people get diagnosed nowadays

every doctor, therapist, teacher and my parents suspected I was somewhat on the spectrum since I was 7 and I have 4 or 5 cousins exactly like me and everyone has always suspected the same, as well as with my paternal grandfather. Mental ‘illness’ if you want to call it that runs very heavily in both sides of my family. What you have to remember with autism too is that it’s a spectrum meaning it doesn’t always manifest in these extremely obvious ways. In the sense OP is speaking of regarding being a nerd that can’t get a job, can’t socialise with anybody expect people who share his really niche autistic special interests, plays video games all day, etc.
