Whenever I see a couple where there’s a clear looks gap, the comments are always full of NPCs spamming the same overused looksmatch graphic we’ve all seen a thousand times.
But do they seriously think hypergamy is only about facial attractiveness? For the top 1% of men, it’s a combination of face, height, status, money, social proof, and overall SMV. Female attraction isn’t a simple bell curve like male attraction tends to be—it’s much more selective and multidimensional.
Yes, looks matter—a lot. Nobody is denying that. But acting like an uglier or lower-SMV person is somehow “not allowed” to date someone more attractive is ridiculous. Real life isn’t a perfectly sorted marketplace where everyone pairs off with their exact looksmatch.
People who obsess over strict looksmatching are basically saying everyone should stay in their own league forever. That’s about as dumb as saying poor people should only date other poor people. Attraction and relationships are far more nuanced than that.
