Hedonism is different for everyone, it literally makes it impossible to be happy 24/7 and only ones who break through that have to cope to another dimension or be in a constant cycle of endless work and reward. There was a ivy graduate that went to become a software engineer at netflix making probably 250k+ only to kill himself weeks before starting, couldn't possibly be more successful than that and showed no signs of depression but he probably drowned in that hedonistic existence.
