I used to bring the water to a boil first, then salt and then oatmeal. Lower heat and simmer until thick. The oatmeal would come out slightly watery. Now I add the oatmeal into the cold water with salt, bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer until thick. The latter method produces a much thicker oatmeal, it's the stuff of fairy tales. I highly reccommend this method. Add a tablespoon of peanut butter to the finished product.

add cinnamon as well
great tip, i typically like cinnamon when im adding fruits and syrup or jam or honey to the oatmeal. HOWEVER, i avoid the cinnamon if im adding a tbsp of nutella, then ill just keep it solely at peanut butter and nutella.

i agree, whole milk produces a much tastier kasha BUT for some incels on these forums, milk may cause acne flare ups. also, no milk saves fat cals for the peanut butter/nutella.

I don't eat oatmeal for breakfast. ONLY EGGS.
