Oily severe acne to glass skin

I’m 19 years old and from 13 to 18 I’ve always been told “It’s just hormones it’ll go away”. Nobody should be telling you this because nobody wants to wait until their late teens to start slaying because there’s a fix for acne which I went from 18 to 19 that had nothing to do with my hormones whatsoever.

Here are the results of me using this routine everyday for just 6 months.

Diet is important of course but this is water so I’ll only briefly go over this.

3-4L water a day

No goyslop

Orange juice

Avoid sugar

Avoid salt

Simple right?

I’m going to be purchasing accutane as I’m cycling test in a week or so but if you don’t have access to this I have the easiest method to improve your skin without being told “just wait”.

Cleanser

This is super important to get a good cleanser that’s right for you and my oily skin I chose Cerave foaming cleanser and this worked great for my oily skin.

Exfoliant

Do NOT use physical exfoliants if you have bad acne it’s just going to worsen it by intensifying inflammation and slow down the healing process. It will give you ugly scars and dark spots. So for severe acne chemical exfoliant is far more effective like salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid - BHA (Beta-Hydroxy Acid)

This is gold standard for super acne prone skin. Do not use this everyday as it will damage your skin barrier giving you dry flaky skin, feel uncomfortably tight, and can burn or sting for hours. I personally only use this everyday 3-4 weeks when I have small breakouts but with severe acne, I used this 2x a week. If it is ≤2% it is safe to use everyday but the stronger products out there are a lot more effective when only used 2x a week.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

I hadn’t used this stuff up until about 2 months ago and it has been a blessing especially for winter season as it eliminates that rosy red look on your face, regulates your oil production and fades post-acne marks. You can use this every day and night for the best results.

Moisturiser

Ideally for moisturiser you want to use one that contains vitamin C as it’s antioxidant and repairs skin barriers effectively if you’ve used shitty products in the past. It inhibits tyrosinase which is the enzyme that produces melanin and reduces hyperpigmentation.

First, you want to wet your face with warm water and apply the cleanser all over your face then leave it on for about 30 seconds then wash it off. Then use your chemical exfoliant Salicylic acid (1-2x a week) I recommend foam or gel versions of this and not the serums as you keep the serums on your face but foam and gel washing off after 30-60 seconds after application. Now, the niacinamide put this on under your eyes and on your then rub it in deeply. Wait about 3 minutes for your face to feel a little bit dry then apply the Vitamin C moisturiser, waiting for it to feel dry is important otherwise you’ll be walking around looking oily any shiny all day.

I see you haven't mentioned anything about sleep here. Did your sleep change at all during that period?

Apologies for the low effort thread though, I just wanted to share my personal experience completely forgot to take that into account lol, obviously 8-9 hours would be ideal but I’m not gonna larp and say I did that because my sleep schedule is horrendous

No worries. Even though isotret is king, this is a good post for users to find as reference in the future. I was interested in the sleep part in your specific case because I've seen cases in which the subjects were ironically sleeping too much and trying to see if there's any correlation between extended sleep and acne but I guess not. Good luck keeping the good skin :Okay:

contradictory yes, but as I said I would only briefly go over diet and if you have somewhat of a brain you can tell the difference between chocolate and candy vs fucking orange juice

Interesting, I’ll keep this into account and if I notice anything correlating with my sleep pattern I will update the thread

yeah orange juice has sugar, none of this will give good results i was on the low carb diet for 2 years and never fully cleared my acne. Accutane is the only thing that works.

Yeah I probably should’ve specified between natural and artifical sugars actually but you’re wrong I’ve struggled with acne my whole life and only got rid of it after applying this skincare routine WITHOUT accutane your low carb diet has nothing to do with what I’ve stated. The results are literally right there

there's no difference between process sugars and natural sugars both spike insulin

Orange juice or whole fruits for example have a lower glycemic impact and a slower affect on your blood sugar and where there are processed sugars there isn’t a good amount of fibre, vitamins and antioxidants for example if I have a glass of orange juice it will contain vitamin c supporting collagen production whereas chocolate or candy (artifical shit) doesn’t contain that

What u think bro ofc sleep is the biggest factor in this change, maybe top 2 after fixing gut, still if u eat very good exercise and do everything if u don’t sleep nothing will fix
