ive recently heard that one of the following omegas can bloat you: omega 3 and omega 6. Is this true? i cant remember the exact omega but im pretty sure its one of these.

So I think there are like 4 types of omega fatty acids: 3, 6, 7 and 9. None of them bloat you, but they can cause inflammation.

Long-story short, omega-6 are precursors to certain inflammatory compounds, while omega-3s kinda do the opposite and actually produce anti-inflammatory compounds. Does this mean you shouldn't get omega-6s? No! They're still important, they're essential nutrients and they play a huge role in your gene expression.

The issue with most people's diet is that their ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 is pretty fucking bad, people (specially Americans) it's like 20:1, meaning people consume 20 times the amount of omega-6 as they do omega-3. The ideal ratio is 1:1 or 1:4 (in favor of Omega-3) to reduce inflammation.

its mostly just a blatant misconception

the only thing that could bloat you would be the source in which you get the Omega(3s,6s,etc) from, as things like krill & fish oil are thought to cause minor gastrointestinal issues which could contribute to bloating

other than that, like you said its just the imbalance in the ratio of omega-3 : omega-6 that correlates to certain obesity indicators which COULD make someone believe they "bloat" you
