My moms best friends husband has ALS, so he's essentially slowing becoming a vegetable. Used to be a cop, and now he's reduced to a wheelchair, needs to be bathed by her, etc. and her son has down syndrome, and her oldest son killed himself because he had type 1 diabetes and started losing feeling in his feet. She has, without a doubt, the most difficult and unfortunate life out of anyone I know.

Really tough query. On the one hand, I love living and I love life, so naturally I as a human would not want to necessarily stop, but then again, not being able to literally do anything sounds like a hell in itself. What’s even scarier is not being able to decide your own future when you are in such a vegetative state if you had a freak accident or something.
