Is that they are extremely greedy and opportunistic. They’ll pivot, rebrand, or chase whatever trend is hot the second it looks profitable, even if it means ditching the thing they were supposedly passionate about yesterday.

One example. This all birds an American shoe wear brand that is quite popular among white women and is all about eco friendly materials. You might have seen ads on this brand on YouTube a few years back

1000230338

But all of a sudden they had enough of this shit and said fuck the shoes, fuck the environment, fuck the virtue signalling. We are doing AI now. Like a complete 360. They sold their shoes division. Re branded as new birds and bought a truck load of GPUs and made data centers to lease cloud infra to AI companies

And the investors and loving it. Their stock went up by 500% on the same day they announced the pivot.

I can name hundreds of pivots like this. My own company did a 360 on its values just a year back from their ideal and traditional buisness practices.

User data, hype cycles, AI this week, crypto last week. if there’s a way to squeeze more money or valuation out of it, they’re on it. Also always trying to destroy and rip The opposition apart without mercy like a pack of wolves.

The making the world a better place all that is complete BS and only for the optics. What tbeh care about is strictly shareholder value and market dominance but ultimately this is what drives innovation so you can see it as a good thing or a bad thing.

I know how the world works genius but the difference is monkey branching culture like this doesn't exist outside of US. It’s an artificial ecosystem created and protected by regulatory frameworks and legal incentives. Knowing how the world works is not the same as why it happens nigga

No, apparently you don’t. This isn’t about regulation. It’s about investment. Companies are going into ai because of the investment bubble. This has been front page news for the last five years. Companies can change their business model and rebrand all they like. Any country allows that. The only reason Silicon Valley companies do it more often is to chase investors. This is like capitalism 101. But you might not have gotten that far in your Mumbai primary school

Do you think these same companies will abandon ai if another hotter trend comes up and take over? (Very unlikely to happen i know) but still

False. This is a result of At Will employment and corporate law. It allows Silicon Valley to fire entire divisions overnight. This simply does not happen in Europe they have huge work unions and stuff. There are capitalist countries in Europe but the governments don't allow designed to prevent companies from treating their entire labor force and core business model like disposables. An Italian shoe company couldn't pivot to AI data centers overnight even if their investors wanted to.
