opinions on triangle elastics?

i have triangle elastics im afraid itll recess me they connect from one upper molar to my lower molar/premolars
i had a palate expander before having my bands put on
i havent asked my orthodontist abt why they did these specific treatments rlly i didnt think to

i just see alot of speculation by ppl on here saying elastics can recess you and im not very educated on it, no cluenif it does or not

My little brother just got elastics roughly in the same spot as you. When we were in the dentist they said something about bringing the mandible forward. Now I would do my own research rather than listening to some grey on org lol.
