First of all, let me state the obvious: If you are ugly or chad, this won’t have a significant effect. This guide is for the majority of men who fall between these ranges.
Sideburns are extremely underrated in terms of how they affect the face.
Majority of people I’ve seen (including myself) have either:
- Unkempt, bushy sideburns.
- No sideburns (skin fade).
Both of these are no good and do nothing positive for your face. The optimal sideburns are:
- Full coverage but short (Grade 2-4).
- Come mid-way down the ear.
This does several positive things for the face:
- Frames your face and accentuates the lower third; compared to having no sideburns which makes your face look rounder as it carries on into the hair.
- The short hair makes your face look slimmer and defines the bones more; compared to unkempt + bushy sideburns which make your face look fatter and wider (in a bad way).
Picture examples (I used good looking people to make it fair):
No sideburns (skin fade)
Bushy, unkempt sideburns
Optimal sideburns
