Optimal Vaseline usage

Might be a dumb question but is there an optimal time to put Vaseline on your lips like at night or whatevr or is it just for whenever you feel you’ve got dry lips?

I’m asking for potential long term moisturising benefits and it’s really annoying to deal with the white residue shit you get on your lips a couple of hours after putting on the vaseline

vaseline is just petrol in a little container dont use it, find a natural hydrating lipbalm like burts bees lipbalm which actually moisturises ur lips and doesnt leave white residue
