Nietzche described all of this perfectly.
This is the difference between "bluepilled", "blackpilled" and "redpilled" men.
As always, we are mere children playing in the forests which great men before us planted the seeds of. We are embarrassingly stupid in front of great men, many of which are long dead forever.
Nietzche above states that men either want to be happy and "believe" or want to know reality and merely "inquire" for the truth. This is the difference between "bluepilled" and "blackpilled".
Which is also the same thing as "optimism" and "pessimism". Notice that truths often describe the same reality and everything comes back to the same concepts. It's all in your head that's why, it's not even possible to discover objective truth, you just live in your head and that's why there's a million words to describe the same concepts, because these concepts are primal and exist in your DNA and unconscious being, they are merely discovered, not created.
Optimism is the mental act of "hoping" or "dreaming" or wanting something to come to be. All art takes this form. Notice life is quite painful, boring, almost excruciatingly unbearable for many, if not all. Art takes its place, music is a refuge for every social interaction because without it, the dull sounds of the real world reveal their hellish true nature.
Music, and art both, are a refuge for the mind.
Life without music and art is perhaps completely unbearable.
I believe many more men would commit suicide much earlier if it were not for porn, video games, and music.
There would either be rioting in the streets or dead bodies in every apartment single men live in.
Optimism is merely the act of hoping, desiring, dreaming of a better reality that may or may not come to be.
Pessimism is bluntly describing the nature of reality which often is much more painful, confusing, and unmoral at best.
There is no right answer here, if you wish to be a success in the world, you must dream your dream and try and shoot for it.
If you wish to know the truth, just like the blackpill is relentlessly uncaring and brutal but accurate to the nature of reality, so true is the nature of existence itself, you must search for the answers.
When I tell you that we lost Nietzche I say this with great tragedy in mind because this individual was more important than even Jesus Christ himself.
