Oral fin definitely has more side effects that topical. But if you look at the studies dutasteride and finasteride have the same probability of side effects. I am on dutasteride at 21 and have never felt better, my hair is getting insanely thick and hairline is slowly creeping forward. 0 sides whatsoever. Unless you are high E and low T to begin with, using a 5AR is pretty safe.

If I were you, I would just get on dutasteride rn and save oral min as a last resort.

Yeah, oral min works better, unless you are a total non-responder. I feel like with dutasteride and oral min you can at least get another 2 decades of protection.

well I have extremely bad hairloss genes where most men in my fam are noticeably nw4 in early 20s and nw7 as adults. if I could still get two decades worth of hair that is all I would want. then I could try hair transplants.

when you say protection for 2 decades do you mean no loss of ground at all or just not fully bald.

What I mean is you can maintain most of what you have for about that long. I have seen many severe hair loss sufferers in other forums who maintain their hair with dut alone for like a decade. Also, the vast majority of finasteride responders manage to keep their baseline for about 10 years in the studies. But no guarantees, results suffer based on the individual.

FYI, I was a NW 3 ish at 19 and I am regrowing hair on dut at 21. Hope this helps.

5mg tabs or 10mg. I know you can easily save money with the 10mg but I heard somewhere that the dosage is only consistent if you cut the pill down the middle line. So if you cut a pill 5 times you would have uneven doses

So an update

I got my 10mg oral minox pills and they are fucking tiny.

It will definitely be easier to dose these properly at 5mg pills, but 1/8ths is probably still manageable if you are on a budget and have a pill cutter.
