Oral minoxidil treatment length

Started a week ago I’ve seen a thread say six months is the best time to stop so that you gain the most amount of growth without your body becoming dependant on it- basically the time period which maximises the amount of hair you maintain after stopping usage.

Now, Ive not heard anybody else’s take on this. What would that ideal time period be to maintain that growth. I doubt it makes much difference but I’m taking about 2.5gm pills
