Ortho next week

I’m visiting the ortho next week because I have a 6 or 7 mm over bite ( pardon the pun ) but my mandible is a bit recessed not majorly but it’s not optimal. I need to know exactly what to ask for and what to say no to I’m 16 so idk if my plates have closed yet. Please tell me exactly what to ask for and to say ?
