Orthodontic elastics and braces

I wanna get Damon braces to get a good smile for appeal but I’m scared I’ll become recessed since the online debates about it I’m getting mixed messages about it, I might need Orthodontic elastics as well which I do not know of.

Orthodontic elastics to fix my recessed chin which I heard it gives u a recessed maxilla in return which I do not want that
