Are you talking about expansion or like regular orthodontics ?

U will get better results if u do pre and post surgical orthodontics
What if I just do after? My surgeons very well known and confident in his ability’s I just like to do everything to perfection specially a surgery like this but I also want to ascend now because I am 21 and want to find love soon, but do you think this will affect his ability’s to perfect my surgery bc my orthodontist was saying it’s like trying to fit a cap onto a bottle that doesn’t fit when he’s advancing the maxilla and mandible and I do have a crossbite

Too case dependent to give blanket answers. If your surgeon is good, trust them. In most cases, not all, pre surgical ortho will get you better results as you aren’t working with what you have, you’re setting up what you want the end result to be upfront, thus less limitation on movement and rotation. But again, pick a surgeon who is good and trust them. That’s all you can do.

At least you're aware and dodged it. I'm happy I did. If ur narrow its pretty smart to expand first and be as ready as you can before surgery. Its worth it. I got the whole marpe and trimax. LOOONG wait and anticipation. You also get breathing improvements you wouldn't have with surgery

Like the others said its case by case but pretty standard to have pre op and post up orthodontics for most cases. Im halfway post op ortho.
