If orthodontist doesn't approve MARPE it's for a reason there can be multiple reasons for crowding and MARPE is the solution in the minority of the cases. For example if you have Class II then you can fix the crowding by fixing the overjet

I understand. But a person with extensive experience in dentistry told me that expansion is necessary. I went for an orthodontic consultation six months ago, and the orthodontist said—without any additional testing—that a MARPE appliance wasn't needed; instead, she suggested extracting all four wisdom teeth and simply getting braces.(I only had dental X-rays taken)

You are going to need probably more than just braces so that you can pull the upper teeth back. Right now the problem is the the upper teeth are a too forward or maybe the lower are too back. I am not an orthodontist I just like to study about that kind of stuff in my free time. Do some research and visit a good orthodontist and you will know what you will need exactly

You will have a better smile and bite (also if I am not mistaken I see some tooth wear on your lower central incisors which would make sense because you have a deep bite, this can be fixed and prevent further damage). In terms of facial appearance nothing is really going to change, maybe a 1-2mm increase in lower face height and 0.5mm decrease in lip projection, realistically speaking these differences wouldn't be visible at all.I also wanted to ask: is it worth seeing an orthodontist?
