Orthodontist help

I’m unsure whether to find my own orthodontist or wait for my bimax surgeon (Ramieri) to recommend one.

I know not every orthodontist is good with biomechanics, elastics, or complex tooth movements, and I don’t want to get botched from a orthodontist lol

My goals are:

• fix a mild dental cant on the left side (some dentists suggested mini-screws + elastics),

• increase my smile show (I show 6-8 teeth, want to show 10),

• get better simmetry, my teeth are not heavily crooked


I’m open to options like Damon braces, Invisalign, tipping, or even an MSE/FME if needed, but I don’t know whether I should start now or wait.

Should I fix the cant and start orthodontics on my own to save time, or wait for my surgeon’s recommendation so everything aligns with the surgical plan?


Any advice or experience would help, money its not an issue, I just want to get with the best orthodontist possible

What's your country? I'd rather wait for Ramieri to recommend you but it depends on where you live I guess and if he actually knows any good ones in your country. Also make sure to get CBCT scans before any maxfac consultation.

Peru in South America, and while there are some good orthodontists here, I’m willing to fly to another country to get the best orthodontic treatment

My maxfac hooked me up with an orthodontist that she works with. Some surgeons (maybe even most, not sure) work with certain orthodontist(s) to produce the best results possible.
