Orthodontist offered palate expander through surgery

What does this mean? He said I would need to have this done and installed with surgery before getting braces to fix my crooked teeth. He did a Xray and said I have a asymmetrical jaw

It’s expensive but should I go through with it? I have a good base but I have a fucked up under bite and crooked jaw which is barely noticeable. Can I expect decent results?

I would definitely go through with it for both fixing the underbite and crooked jaw and looksmaxing. however when the palate expansion is done you will need braces and some type of retainer for the rest of your life. I know a lot of people really dont like the idea of wearing a retainer until they die. But overall palate expansion almost always results in looking more sexually attractive. Gives your face a more attractive look to have a wide mouth and maxilla.

Yeah it usually helps with that too, sometimes it can induce movement in the cheekbones but even if it doesnt, it makes the area around the cheekbones wider and more flared. Good luck with it son
