"Outcome independence" is one of the most low IQ concepts to ever exist and anyone preaching it is a grifter, LARPer, contrarian midwit, or sub 70 IQ.

The crux of the concept of outcome independence is that you "shouldn't give a fuck" and should go into any task with complete indifference towards the outcome. Anyone with even half a brain cell can see the obvious flaws in that logic. The main one being, why would anyone invest time/resources/money into anything if they truly didn't care if their investment would yield a favorable outcome?

Generally speaking, you can measure how much someone cares about something by how much (time/resources/money/energy) they invest into it. So what is the motivating factor involved if there is zero attachment to the potential outcome? The idea is so divorced from reality and basic human nature that even a small child could probably point out the flaws in this logic.

I'm not even exaggerating or misrepresenting what people who advocate for outcome independence are arguing for. I remember at one point thinking I was misunderstanding, thinking there's no way people could be arguing for something this retarded, but I watched some videos on it and it's every bit as retarded as I thought as completely dismisses basic concepts like opportunity cost. Literally "manifestation" or "flat earth" tier shit.

I also noticed that most of the people who advocate for it are selling some product, usually some course or e-book or something. That's when I connected the dots. They want you to buy their product, but expect nothing in return (because it's useless and they know it) so you keep giving them money, or at least don't ask for a refund, leave bad reviews, or do a chargeback. And of course they all appeal to "muh masculinity" because REAL MEN continuously invest time and resources into endeavors that yield no results.

Outcome independence is for people who are trying to cope with bad things happening to them. For every major decision you make, you should remember that you have a stake riding on the outcome. That's what motivates you to follow through on actions. They're right to say that when you can't undo a bad decision, you shouldn't spend all your time seething over it, but that's because you should be spending your time learning from it and making sure everything else goes your way. Of course lazy and low-agency people use it as an excuse to not give a shit.
